Ernest Gibbs

Mr. Ernest Gibbs, age 79 of Mineral Bluff, entered into his heavenly home on Friday, September 7, 2018 with his family by his side. Mr. Gibbs was born September 12, 1938 in Mineral Bluff, GA to the late Bill Gibbs and the late Mollie King Gibbs. A member of Hot House Baptist Church, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Gibbs, one son, Michael "Big Mike" Mealer, and brother, Homer Gibbs. In his spare time, Ernest enjoyed working on cars and listening to the musicians play at Horseshoe Bend Park.

Survivors include loving wife, Betty Gibbs, daughter, Vickie (Cubby) Maney, daughter, Paulette (Mike) Stamey, daughter, Brenda Robinson, son, Tony (Cheri) Cornett, son, Tommy Cornett, sister, Mary Ann Patterson, eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 10, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Caylor officiating. Music will be provided by the Caylor Family and Susan Mill. Interment will follow in the Hot House Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Ricky Payne, Bobby Payne, Michael Gibbs, Steven Gibbs, Daniel Fussell and Tim Jarrett.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home on Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
