Eric Charles Curtis, age 50, of Murphy, North Carolina passed away on November 1, 2024 at his home. Eric was born on September 16, 1974 in Copperhill, TN to Jerry "Sonny" and Judith Bandy Curtis. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry "Sonny" Curtis; grandparents, J.C. and Wilma Bandy; Bud and Bill Leford. Other family members also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Keesha Curtis; children, Alex Charles Curtis, Taylor (Jamie) Enriques and Jake (Destiny) Enriques; mother, Judy Curtis; sister, Stacey (Clay) Brown; grandchildren, Berkley Riden, Jayci Riden, and Maizley Enriques. Other special family members and friends also survive.

Eric was of the Christian faith and a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church, Wolf Creek in North Carolina. He was a passionate and dedicated fire fighter serving for over 22 years. He served with the Wolf Creek VFD, East Polk County Fire and Rescue, and Copper Basin Fire and Rescue. He served as Chief at Wolf Creek VFD for 7 years and 3 years as assistant Fire Chief at Copper Basin Fire and Rescue. He truly enjoyed God's beautiful world of creation spending countless hours hunting and fishing. Eric deeply loved his family and friends.

A memorial celebration of his life is scheduled to be held at the Culberson VFD next to Ranger School in Ranger, North Carolina on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 2pm. Brother Don Padgett will officiate the service with eulogies provided by Jerry Bandy and Chad McNabb. Final Fireman's Call will be by Becky Waters and Kayla Headley. The Bradley County Fire Department and Cleveland Tennessee City Fire Department will serve as honor guard. Honorary pallbearers include Henry Harden, James Cochran, Martin Senterfitt, Josh Bandy, Kaleb Couch, Daniel McNabb, Jerry Bandy, Jacob Bandy and Bobby Barton.

A funeral procession of various fire departments will assemble in the parking lot of Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home, McCaysville Chapel, located at 1478 Blue Ridge, Drive, Blue Ridge Georgia 30513 beginning at 10 am and will leave for the Culberson VFD in a processional at 12 noon.
