Mrs. Emma Jane Crump Turner, age 90, of Lilburn, Georgia, passed away Monday, March 23, 2009 at New London Health Center in Snellville, Georgia. Mrs. Turner was born Monday, July 8, 1918, in Union County, Georgia, to the late Frank Crump and the late Carrie Lee Lovell Crump. Mrs. Turner had lived in the Atlanta area since 1945. She was of the Baptist faith, and had been preceded in death by her her husband, Archie Frank Turner, Sr.; sisters and brothers: William McDonald Crump, Luneedah Avera, Edward Crump, Harold Crump and Georgia Crump.
Surviving family members include: son, Archie Frank Turner, of Lilburn; step-daughter, Marceline May, of Birmingham, Alabama; sister, Joyce Tanner, of Snellville; brother, John David "J.D." Crump, of Griffin, Georgia; and sister, Billie Joan Cardot, of Blairsville. Many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Stacy Dyer officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are the following gentlemen: Archie Frank Turner, John Crump, Jonathan Crump, Russell Cardot, Kevin Tanner and Joe Dillard.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from Friday, March 27; 6 until 9 pm.
