Emily L. Gifford

Mrs. Emily L.Gifford, age 83 of Blue Ridge, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Gifford was born September 1, 1932 in Hackensack, NJ to the late Rudolph Carl Appeld and the late Freda Theresa Nehring Appeld. A member of Grace Presbyterian Church, P.C.A., of Blairsville, GA, she enjoyed sewing and she liked to crochet.

Survivors include: husband, Walter Douglas Gifford, two sons, W. Douglas Gifford (wife, Jeanette) and Daniel J. Gifford (wife, Heidi), two daughters, Barbara B. Smith (husband, Willard) and Jane M. Johnston (husband, Thomas), one sister, Doris Gordon, one brother, Rudy Appeld, Jr., twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 7:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in the GA National Cemetery in Canton, GA, Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 11:00 am.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 5-7 pm.
