Elvin Raymond Washburn

Mr. Elvin Raymond Washburn, Sr., age 86 of McCaysville, GA passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA. Elvin was born April 6, 1930 in Whitney Point, NY to the late Clarence Osmond Washburn and the late Beatrice Edith Ackley Washburn. Elvin served his country at the end of WWII enlisting in the Army Air Corps. He retired from the Fort Myers Police Department as the Chief of Detectives and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing and traveling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Era Mae Washburn and daughter, Myra Katherine Greene.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Elvin Raymond Washburn, Jr. and Laurie, son, Clarence Washburn, daughter and son-in-law, Karen Elaine Williams and Keith, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 12:00 pm at Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens.
