Elma M Smithson

The Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces Funeral Services for Mrs. Elma Smithson, age 90 of Blairsville who passed away on November 30, 2020.

Mrs. Smithson graduated from McAdory High School and Burroughs Business School. She retired from St. Vincent's/St. Clair Hospital in Pell City, Alabama, where she was head of medical records. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville, and enjoyed working in her yard and volunteering at Union General Hospital.

Mrs. Smithson is survived by her husband, Harold Smithson; sister-in-laws: Vaudine Smithson Gilmore and Shirley Smithson Langston; nephews: Stony Alexander, Ricky Alexander, Terry Harbarger and Randy Langston; nieces: Cindy Cowley and Beth Harris. She was preceded in death by her parents: Vilous and Ethel Simpson and her daughter, Dee Ann Smithson Dill.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Pastor Fred Lodge officiating. Special music will be presented by Minister of Music Rev. Ed Lawrie. Eulogy will be given by Tom Orchanian. Interment will be held later in Pell City, Alabama.

Visitation will be on Monday from 1 p.m. until the service begins.
