Ellen Delitha Higdon

Mrs. Ellen Delitha Higdon, age 89 of Ellijay, passed away April 4, 2013 at Gilmer Nursing Home. Mrs. Higdon was born February 5, 1924 in McCaysville, GA to the late Octavies Beavers and the late Dora McDonald Beaver. A member of the McCaysville Church of God, she was preceded in death by step-son, James Higdon, step-daughter, Rose Mary Davenport, daughter, Andrea Higdon, daughter, Patricia Chancey.

Survivors include: daughter, Sonja (Carl) Self, daughter, Shirley (Gerald) Hughes, step-daughter, Betty Sue Johnson, step-son, Jr. Higdon, , grandaughters raised as daughters, Stephanie (Wally Jr) Stover and Dana (Matt) Penland, Brother, Octavies (Evelyn) Beaver Jr..

Funeral services: Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Hughes officiating. Music provided by: Ty Coker. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers: Grandsons & Great grandsons.
