Bette Teschner, age 91, of Blue Ridge, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 23, 2016. Born in Philadelphia, April 14, 1925, Bette spent a lot of time between Philadelphia, the Pocono Mountains, and the Jersey Shore. At the age of eighteen Bette was the youngest beautician in Philadelphia to open her own beauty shop. She married in 1950 and raised two daughters. In 1957, Bette became only the second women to bowl a sanctioned perfect 300 game in Philadelphia at the time. In 1964, Bette and family moved to South Florida where they lived until 2010 when all moved to Blue Ridge. She loved being in the mountains and with her daughters. She later became a much loved resident of Pruitt Health Care in Blue Ridge. Bette was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Robert "Bob" Teschner and her sister Eunice Jackson.
She is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Barbara and Jeff Keeler, and Janet and Bill Estes, both of Blue Ridge. Other family includes two grandchildren, Sarah Keeler Swain and husband Brian Swain of Cartersville, GA and Garrett Keeler of Deerfield Beach, Fl.
The family will be having a private remembrance.
