It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Plott King, a beloved member of the Blairsville community. Elizabeth peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 24th, 2023 at Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville, GA. Born on February 28, 1925, she spent her entire life in this close-knit town she called home.

Elizabeth was a remarkable woman who made a lasting impact on the lives of those around her. She was the proud owner of King's 5 & 10, a beloved store in Blairsville that she dedicated over 50 years of her life to. Through her business, she had the pleasure of serving and building cherished connections with countless individuals in the community.

Aside from being a successful entrepreneur, Elizabeth possessed a multitude of passions outside of work. She had a talent for puzzles and would spend hours engrossed in them, relishing the challenge and triumph of completing each one. Elizabeth also had a creative spirit and would often be found drawing in her spare time, showcasing her artistic eye and capturing the beauty she saw in the world around her. Elizabeth was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and reveled in watching their games, providing a thrilling source of entertainment for her.

A member of the Bethel Methodist Church, Elizabeth found solace and strength in her faith, which guided her throughout her life. She was known for her kind heart, compassionate nature, and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her constant presence and willingness to listen earned her countless friends and admirers throughout the community. Elizabeth had been preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Max King; a daughter, Debra King; and her parents, Leonard and Alma Plott.

Elizabeth will be deeply missed by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Karen King, and her cherished grandchildren: Heath (Ana) King, Hallye (Adam) Crisp, Brittany (Ethan) Martin, Zach Odom, Tyler (Lauren) Odom. She was also blessed with the joy of great-grandchildren Ian King, Hayes King, Stokley Martin, and Kori Martin, who brought immense happiness to her life.

To honor her memory and celebrate a life well-lived, a funeral service will be held a 2:00pm,Wednesday, September 27th 2023 at Cochran Funeral Home. Friends and family can gather to offer their condolences and pay their respects on Tuesday, September 26th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Following the service, a burial will take place at the Union Memory Gardens.

In her passing, Elizabeth Plott King leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength. Her gentle spirit, wise advice, and unwavering support will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those she leaves behind. May she find eternal peace in the embrace of her loved ones who preceded her in death, and may her memory continue to inspire and guide us all.
