Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Garrett, age 85, native and lifelong resident of Blairsville, who passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.
Mrs. Garrett was a daughter of the late Edmond and the late Georgia Bowling Crawford. She was a homemaker and a member of Coosa United Methodist Church. Mrs. Garrett loved watching The Gaither's on tv, and enjoyed crocheting and reading, especially Danielle Steele books. Mrs. Garrett had been preceded in death by her husband, James Wesley Garrett, who died last year; and a daughter, Pam Garrett, also preceded her in death. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Family members left to cherish their memory of Elizabeth are: daughter and son-in-law, Sharlotte and Gary Adams, of Cleveland, GA; son and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Jeanett Garrett; Ronnie and Jan Garrett; Stanley and Traci Garrett; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Loretta Garrett; daughter, Beverly Hawkins, all of Blairsville; daughter, Cindy Gillum, of Oakwood, Georgia; and son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Ancy Garrett, of Blairsville; brother and sister-in-law, Ellard and Dot Crawford, of Buford, Georgia; 26 grandchildren and 32 great great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Thursday, September 28, 2017, at 2:00 p.m., to be held in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, with Rev. Kevin Garrett officiating. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Stanley Garrett, Dennis Garrett, Mark Garrett, Eddie Garrett, Caleb Garrett, and Corey Garrett. The following gentlemen will serve as honorary escort to the family: Gary Adams and Ronnie Garrett. Burial will be in Union Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Wednesday night, September 27, 2017, between the hours of 6 until 9 p.m.
