Elena "Shovel" Stanley, age 56 of Blairsville, GA, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at her residence.
Shovel was born June 26, 1953 in Blairsville, GA to the late Walter and Rosell Gibson Lovell . She was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church and Harmony Grove Baptist Church Sportsman Ministry and was preceded in death by sister, Lillian Garrett, brother, Henry Lovell and brother-in-law, Gerald Dan McGaha.
Survivors include: husband, Tom Stanley of the home, sister & brother-in-law, Ruby & J.W. Garrett of Suches, GA, sister & brother-in-law, Geneva & Cline Garrett of Suches, GA, sister & brother-in-law, Bessie & James Cain of Gainesville, GA, sister, Opal McGaha of Young Harris,GA, sister & brother-in-law, Bonnie & Noah Seabolt of Blairsville, GA, sister & brother-in-law, Mildred & Clifford Grizzle of Blairsville, GA, sister & brother-in-law, Linda & Gary Payne of Gainesville, GA, brother & sister-in-law, Earl & Rena Lovell of Blairsville, GA, host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. from the Harmony Grove Baptist Church, where the body will lie instate one hour prior to the service, with Rev. Jeff Deaver, Rev. Stacy Dyer and Rev. Scotty Jarrard officiating. Music provided by Harmony Grove Praise Team. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Steve Rhoten, Matt Cook, Tim Stepp, Oscar Thomas, John Martel and Charlie Byers. Honorary pallbearers include, Anthony Olson, Phil Nichols and Walt Reynolds.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 2, 2010 from 6-9 P.M. at Cochran Funeral Home, Blairsville.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contrubitions may be made to: Harmony Grove Baptist Church Sportsman Ministry.
