Edwin Phillip Long

Mr. Edwin Phillip Long, age 74 of Morganton, passed away May 11, 2015 at Tranquility at Kennesaw. Mr. Long was born May 24, 1940 in Cartecay, GA to the late Floyd Eugene Long and the late Esmer Ruth Ralston Long.. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He loved hunting, fishing and riding motor cycles. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry Long and son Timothy Edwin Long.

Survivors include: wife, Janice Hunt Long, children, Kimberly Shae Rutledge and Sherry Patricia Vaughan, brothers, David Hilburn Long, Ernest Long and Daniel Long, sisters, Ramona Jones, Loretta Owensby, Charlotte Anderson and Sharon Long, grandchildren: Timothy Michael Sussman, Kyle Andrew Rutledge, Jessica Pearl Butler, Joshua Edward Butler, Joseph Massey Vaughan, Benjamin Edward Vaughan, Danica Rutledge, Jodie Rutledge and Yvette Rutledge..

Funeral services: Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Buddy Pittman officiating. Music provided by: David Anderson and Raven Welch. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery . Pallbearers: Timothy Sussman, Kyle Rutledge, Josh Butler, Mike Long, Gary Long and Joseph Vaughan. Military Honors by: North Georgia Honor Guard.
