Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces Graveside Services for Edward Grady Eller, Jr., age 86, of Hiawassee, Georgia, who passed away Friday, June 27, 2014 following an extended illness. He was born February 16, 1928 in Hiawassee to Edward Grady, Sr. and Leatha Eller. Edward is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Rose Marie Eller; daughter, Joyce Eller Perry; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Grady Eller, Sr.; brothers, Lawrence Eller, Vaughn Eller, L.P. Eller and sister, Parilee Sexton.
Edward is survived by: daughters, Joan Long and Judy Carpenter and son & daughter-in-law, Jerry & Tamera Eller. Surviving grandchildren are Melinda Nichols, Michael & Paige Long, Melanie & Tim Coffey, Tracy and Gary Cann, Jennifer & Shannon Burrell, and Jeremy & Amy Eller. Great Grandchildren are Dillon Burrell, Devin Burrell, Kira Parnell, Sydney Coffee, Carli Coffey, Tyler Long, Gabe Eller and Brantley Eller. 1 Great-Great Grandson, Kason Smith and several nieces and nephews.
Edward was a builder, carpenter, block and brick mason. In 1956, He attended North Georgia Trade and Vocational School where he earned a certificate in Masonry. After retirement he enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, watching western movies, solving puzzles, cutting grass and hanging out with his dog, Spot. He was also an Army Veteran. Edward will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on June 29, 2014 in the Upper Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Glenn Eller officiating. Pallbearers are Jerry Eller, Jeremy Eller, Shannon Burrell, Michael Long, Dillon Burrell and Devin Burrell. Honorary Pallbearers will include Gabe Eller, Brantley Eller and Tyler Long.
