Edith Jacobs Davis

Edith Jacobs Davis, 92, formerly of Greenville, SC and Charlotte, NC, died Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at Brasstown Manor in Hiawassee, GA. Born September 1, 1926, in Elm City, NC, she was the daughter of the late James Ansel Jacobs and Mildred Oxendine Jacobs. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Romeo Davis. She retired from Connecticut General Life Insurance Company. Edith was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church, Greenville, SC.

Survivors include her sons, Lindsey Davis (Susan) of Blairsville, GA and Marc Davis (Sandy) of Canton, GA; four grandchildren, Nicole Davis Sheffield (Max) of Cumming, GA, Justin Davis (Meredith) of Niceville, FL, Christian Davis (Sara) of Atlanta, GA, and Rachel Davis of Woodstock, GA; four great-grandchildren, Kaylin and Jameson Sheffield of Cumming, GA, and Amelia and Nora Davis of Niceville, FL; sister and brothers, Ellen Joyce Jacobs Hunt, James "Jim" Jacobs (Brenda) and Ronald "Ron" Jacobs (Cecy), all of Spartanburg, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Audrey Jacobs Snipes.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 2, 2019, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by The Rev. Mike Hammett.

The family would like to thank the many people who have lifted Edith and her family up to God during these last difficult years.
