Edgar Walter Tipton, age 81 of Morganton, GA, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Heritage Health Care of Blue Ridge, Ga. Tipton was born Saturday, August 21, 1926 in Fannin County Ga. to the late Ed Tipton and the late Eva Head Tipton. Tipton was a member of Concord Baptist Church. Enjoyed hunting and fishing. Retired truck driver from Tenn. Chemcal Company.

Survivors include: wife, Flora Grice Tipton, daughter & son-in-law, Joan & Dennis Nicholson of Blue Ridge, Ga., son & daughter-in-law, Danny & Kristi Tipton of Morganton, Ga., son & daughter-in-law, Ronnie & Lesa Tipton of Suches, Ga., son, Keith Tipton of Morganton, Ga., sister, Ethel Parker of Roneoak, VA, grandson & wife, Kevin & Raven Nicholson, granddaughter & husband, Alicia & Derek Stewart, grandson, Jamie Tipton, granddaughter, Jessica Tipton, step-grandson, Zachary Payne, grandson & wife, Doug & Jacqueline Tipton, granddaughter & husband, Renee & D.J. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 2:00PM from the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Phillip Davenport, Reverend Bill McGill officiating. Interment will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Doug Tipton, Kevin Nicholson, Jamie Tipton, Chase Tipton, Matt Williams, Derek Stewart, D. J. Carder, Zachary Payne. Honorary pallbearer: Deacon of Concord Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, April 9, 6-9PM.
