Dwight Joey Harper, age 53, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2008. Joey was born Sunday, August 29, 1954 in Polk County, TN to the late William "Billy" Harper and Jean Bell Harper. He was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church.

Mr. Harper volunteered at Chastain Park in Atlanta as a ticket person. He enjoyed the outdoors and activities such as fishing and canoeing. Mr. Harper also enjoyed working with Habitat for Humanity through Home Depot.

Survivors include: Wife, Mary Harper of Blue Ridge, GA; Daughter, Marcy Harper of Woodstock, GA; Son, Cory Harper of Blue Ridge, GA; Mother, Jean Harper of Morganton, GA; Sister, Cindy Guinn of Morganton, GA; Father in-law & Mother in-law, Junior & Lois Weeks of Blue Ridge, GA; and Niece, Kristen Guinn.

Funeral services were held Thursday, January 10, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. with Henry-Cochran Funeral Home officiating. Interment followed at Stanley Church Of Christ Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were: Ricky Newberry, David Wilson, Gary Harper, Mark Burger, Benny Long, Jeff Kehoe, Tommy Curtis, Tim Harper, and Bill Herrerstead. Honorary pallbearers included: Ricky Newberry, Larry Garrett, and employees of Home Depot.

The family received friends at the funeral home from6:00 -9:00 pm , on Wednesday, January 9.
