Ms. Dorothy Mae Maney, age 75 of Young Harris, GA, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home.
Ms. Maney was born Friday, August 11, 1933 in Union County, GA to the late Hoyt Jones and the late Ethel Collins Jones. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and was preceded in death by brothers, Billy and Emory Jones.
Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Mike and Elizabeth Plott of Blairsville, GA, son, Terry Plott of Young Harris, GA, daughter & son-in-law, Angie and Bryon Davis of Hiawassee, GA, brother and sister-in-law, James and Billye Jones of Hiawassee, GA, sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Ray Groves of Blairsville, GA, sister and brother-in-law, Lorene and Joel Turpin of Hiawassee, GA, sister and brother-in-law, Joann and Robert Burnette of Suches, GA, sister-in-law, Oleta Taylor of Hiawassee, GA, grandchildren, Lauren and Tyler Davis and Judd and Maggie Plott, special friend, Delphia Shook, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating. Music will be provided by, Elizabeth Plott. Interment will follow in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be, Clarence Collins Richard Jones, Anthony Turpin, Danny Burnette, Phil Johns and Ronnie Groves. Honorary pallbearers include, Brain Jones and other nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 P.M. Wednesday, September 17.
The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
