Dorothy Lois Bolen, died at the age of 91, on November 11, 2021, in the home of her son and daughter-in-law. "Dot," as her family and friends called her, was born November 19, 1929, in McCaysville, GA, to the late James W. Ray and the late Jessie Lee Cochran-Ray. She enjoyed shopping and eating out with the ones she loved. Dot split her time between the warm, sunny state of Florida where she had many friends in a loving community and the beautiful mountains of North Georgia surrounded by her family. Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L.Bolen, father, James W. Ray, mother, Jessie Lee Cochran Ray, step-mother, Myrtle Ray, son, Oscar Eddie German, brothers, Jay Ray, Hoyt Ray, and Hubert (Buddy) Ray.
Survivors include her son, Robert (Ebba) German, daughter, Donna S. Scott, step-daughter, Donna (Gary) Collins, grandchildren, Christy (Drew) Weaver, Tina (Chad) Berry, Shane (Cally) Jenkins, Jeanette Burger, Angie Burger, Cindy Burger, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services: Monday, November 15, 2021, at 2:00 pm at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joey Buchanan officiating. Music provided by Mary Jo Towe. Interment will follow in the Kingtown Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Connor Monroe, Matt Wood, Clayton Berry, Calvin Berry, Cory Jenkins, and Drew Weaver.
