On January 21, 2018, "Granny" Deane Bruce went to her heavenly home to meet her Savior and to be reunited with her beloved husband Lincoln Bruce.
She was predeceased by her husband, seven siblings and an infant daughter and is survived by two daughters, "Becky" (Keith) White of Hemptown, GA, Joan Brackett (John) Kautz, of Turtletown, TN, one son, James (Katherine) Bruce of Talala, OK, grandchildren, Mary Borges of Denton, TX, Joanna Dyer of Norman, OK, Rachel White (Brandon) Nicholson of Hemp, GA, Jamie Bruce of Claremore , OK, and eight great-grandchildren Andrew, Nathan, Anna, Aaron, Jackson, Madelynn, Evan, and Kara.
Born February 16, 1919, "Granny" was a beloved member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church in Hemptown and had lived the past five years at Stonehenge Assisted Living in Blairsville, GA. She was an avid reader, made quilts, crocheted, wrote poetry, and grew flowers and vegetables. She loved to share her gifts with others.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, at 2:00 PM from the Liberty Hill UMC with Rev. Geri Worley and Rev. Bill Swafford officiating the body will be instate at the church 1:30 till 2:00 PM. Music will be provided by Beverly Thompson and Teresa Ross.
Pallbearers: Jamie Bruce, Steve and Luke Ross, Johnny Brackett, Brandon Nicholson, and John Kautz.
Interment will follow in the Liberty Hill UMC Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Henry Cochran Funeral Home Wednesday evening 5 PM till 8 PM
Flowers are being accepted however if you prefer in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to Liberty Hill UMC Building Fund, PO Box 64, Morganton, GA, 30560.
