Her passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but we take comfort in knowing that she has gone to be with Jesus peacefully. Dorothy's passions were many. She was a self-taught musician who loved playing the piano and shared her gift with others at Upper Peachtree Baptist Church for an incredible 75 years. She was a lifetime member of this church community that held a special place in her heart. In addition to her love of music, Dorothy was also an avid gospel singer who was part of many gospel trios that traveled to different churches throughout her life. She delighted in sharing her love of music with others and spreading the joy of the gospel. As a homemaker, she devoted herself to nurturing her family and creating a warm and welcoming home. Her hospitality was legendary, and she would often say "Have I got anything you need?" as she bid farewell to those who visited her home. But most of all, Dorothy's love for her family and God was truly unimaginable. Her faith guided her every step of the way, and she instilled in her loved ones a sense of purpose and direction that will be cherished forever. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 2nd at Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy. The visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 and the funeral will follow.
