Doris Christine McGill, age 77 of Murphy, passed away October 3, 2012 at the Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home. Doris was born March 11, 1935 in Spartanburg, SC to the late Dillard and Beulah Montgomery McAfee. She was preceded in death by one brother, Max McAfee.
Survivors include: husband, Ralph McGill, daughter, Karen (Robert) Jordan, daughter, Debra (Clayton) Coffey, son, Charles (Tracy) McGill, sister, Mildred Arp, sister, Lois Kaylor, sister, Helen Mack, sister, Sue Peerson, brother, Charles McAfee, brother Dale McAfee, five grandchildren, Rebecca (Carl) Pfaff, Cindy (Troy) Spearman, Angela Jordan, Karie (Brad) Knight, and Eric McGill, three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Pfaff, Jordan Spearman and Kaylee Spearman. Also honorary grandchild Jaderian Gibson, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Mount Moriah Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Morrow officiating. Music will be provided by the Golden Sisters. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The gentlemen serving as Pallbearers will be Mitchell McGill, Tim Patterson, Carl Pfaff, Robert Dillard, Vaughn Gibson, Troy Spearman and Brad Knight.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm Friday night at the Cochran Funeral Home in Murphy.
