Donna Cantrell Maloy, 87, of Blairsville, GA, passed away on June 30th, 2024 in Atlanta, GA. She was born on September 26th, 1936, in Jasper, GA, to the late Earnest and Stella Cantrell.
Donna was known for her very social nature, outgoing persona, and deep love for people. Her willingness and desire to help others in any way possible endeared her to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She moved up to the North Georgia mountain in 2012 making Blairsville her home after the death of her husband. Donna was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Blairsville. She cherished her church family and her Sunday school class, finding joy and fulfillment in her faith.
One of Donna's proudest accomplishments was her role as a homemaker while raising her four children. She was known for being a wonderful mother and an exceptional cook, creating warm and loving memories for her family.
She began volunteering with the auxiliary at Union General Hospital and quickly made friends and enjoyed helping where she could until her health forced her to resign.
She is survived by her children David (Pam) Parker, Richard (Ida) Parker, Diann Parker, Rodney (Joyce) Parker; sister Ann (Ronald) Cantrell Wood; grandchildren Britt Parker, Megan Parker, Levi Goodman, Lucas Parker, T.J. Doss, and Nichole Sensing; grand-dogs Bo, Dippy, Daisy, and Mylee; and several nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Patrick Maloy; parents Earnest and Stella Cantrell; sister Tina Elizabeth Brennan; and grandchild Rachelle Parker.A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 6th, 2024, at Cochran|McDaniel Funeral Home Blairsville Chapel at 2:00 pm with Rev. Tony Neal officiating.
Family will recieve friends at Cochran|McDaniel Funeral Home Blairsville Chapel from 1:00-2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hope House (Union County) and Celebrate Recovery (First Baptist Church of Blairsville).
The last few years Donna's health has been her greatest challenge but she faced these challenges head on with a positive attitude and never gave up. She fought a good fight and God saw she needed to rest and called her home. We will all miss her, her smile, her gentle and caring ways til we meet again.
