Donald Knight

Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces services for Mr. Donald Knight, age 91, of Murphy, North Carolina, who passed away early Monday morning, April 21, 2014 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.

Donald was born in Easton, Pennsylvania, on August 13, 1922, a son of the late Charles and the late Edith Knight. He was a Merchant Marine, and was a pastor of multiple Baptist churches, of which he was the planter of most of them. Donald was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville. Besides his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his first wife, Millie; his older brothers and sisters; and a grandson, Michael Fullam.

Donald leaves behind his loving family members to treasure his memory: his wife, Donna; three children, Donna E. Fullam and her husband Rex; Ronald K. Knight; and Dori D. Cook, and her husband James; Eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, April 24, 2014, at 3:00 p.m., to be held in the Rock Chapel of First Baptist Church of Blairsville, with Dr. Fred Lodge officiating. The family will meet with friends at the Rock Chapel on Thursday, beginning at 2:00 p.m., for one hour before the services begin.
