Donald E. Drury

Donald Edward Drury, Sr., age 93, passed away October 28, 2019 at Blue Ridge Georgia Assisted Living Center. He was born February 14, 1926 in Dayton, OH to the parents Hugh and Katherine Drury. Donald was preceded in death by father, Hugh Drury, mother, Katherine Drury, wife, Jo Marie Drury, and wife, Dorthy Lee Drury. Donald was proud to be a World War II Veteran serving with the U.S. Army Air Corp from January 1944 through October 1945. After serving his nation proudly, he returned and lived in Dayton and surrounding areas for many years. He then lived in Kentucky until the late 1980s. While living in Kentucky, he was the President of North City Ford, Inc. in Madisonville, KY. He was awarded a commission of Kentucky Colonel, the highest title of honor bestowed by the Governor of Kentucky. It is recognition of an individual's noteworthy accomplishments and outstanding service to the community and the state of Kentucky. He then moved to Florida to become a stockbroker and then retired. Through the years and his lifetime he was the type of person that everyone would like to have as a friend, colleague, and family member.

He is survived by son, Donald E. Drury, Jr. (wife Ashley) and their children Tyler and Caroline; daughter, Linda Jo Abbott (husband Jack) and daughter, Susan Louise Drury.

He will be interned at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. Thursday, October 31, 2019, at 10 am.
