Mr. Don Lewis Campbell, age 94, of Blue Ridge, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025, in Ducktown, TN. Don was born March 3, 1930, in Ducktown, TN to Hoyt and Pauline Kimsey Campbell. Don was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a commercial pilot. He lived most of his adult life in Birmingham, AL where he traveled the world as a commercial pilot for Liberty Life Insurance. He retired to Blue Ridge, GA where he reconnected with old friends. He was known for his interest in flying, his gentle nature, and his love of family. He was a man who loved his job as a pilot and often said he loved going to work everyday. Because of his extensive knowledge and experience in aviation, he happily shared his love of flying with young people who wanted to be pilots.
Don was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph K. Campbell, Martin H. Campbell Jr., Lynn Campbell, and Dr. William O'Neal Campbell; sister, Helen Rippy; father, Hoyt Campbell; and mother, Pauline Campbell.
He is survived by his nephews, Ralph K. Campbell Jr. (RK) and Martin L. Campbell; and nieces, Karen C LaGraff, Diane C. Ristorcelli, and Kay Rippy; numerous other great nieces and nephews, cousins, and special friend, Martha Lam.
Graveside Service, on Saturday March 1, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Music provided by Theresa Stepp.Interment will follow at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Turtletown, TN.
