Dolly Adams

Dolly S. Adams, 77, of Blairsville, GA went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Union General Hospital in Blairsville, GA. Dolly was born May 26, 1947, in Mississippi, to David Sistrunk and Sue Juanita Fuller Sistrunk. She was the eldest of nine children.

 Dolly enjoyed going to church to praise and worship her Lord. As a first grade teacher, she helped shape the minds of children for over 40 years. She used Phonics to teach reading to these youngsters and instill a love of reading in them. Dolly enjoyed seeking bargains at countless thrift stores. She was dedicated to caring for her two cats.

 Dolly was preceded in death by her parents, David and Sue Jaunita Sistrunk, and brothers, Robert David Sistrunk and James Stewart Sistrunk.

 She is survived by her son, Benny Adams; brother, Jerry Lewis (Marsha)Sistrunk; sister, Sarah Colleen (Larry) Swanson; brother Ernie Lee (Wanda) Sistrunk; sister, Julie Ann (Virgil) Maney; brother, John Glenn Sistrunk; brother, Ronnie Warren Sistrunk; sisters-in-law Montez Sistrunk and Margret Sistrunk. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 27th, 2024 at 3:00pm at Cochran McDaniel Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Sistrunk Officiating.

 The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Virgil Maney, Dylan Dockery, Wesley Owens, Matthew Young, and Ronnie Sistrunk.

Interment will follow at Union Memory Gardens. 

The family will receive friends at Cochran McDaniel Funeral Home on Saturday, July 27th, 2024 from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer Foundation or a charity of your choice.
