Mrs. Dollie Mae White Loving, age 95 of Blue Ridge, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015 at her home. Dollie was born October 15, 1919 in Blue Ridge, GA to the late John White and the late Maude Witherow White. She was the oldest and one of the most devoted members of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Blue Ridge. Her grandfather was one of the men that built the original church. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, quilting, and fishing. Dollie married the love of her life, John Raymond Loving on Valentine's Day in the year 1943. They were married 69 years before he passed away in 2012. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Patsy Loving Pickelsimer, son-in-law, Donald Pickelsimer, eight brothers and one sister, Ulon White, Willie "Bill" White, Sr., Earl White, Raymond White, Martha White, Arlen White, Weldon White, Lewin White, and Elvin White.
Survivors include her granddaughter, Barbara Pickelsimer and her husband Daniel Maynard, sisters-in-law, Blanche White, Kathleen White, Diane White, Kay Davis, and Martha Jean Loving, many nieces, nephews and lots of special friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Lowery and Rev. Michael Pope officiating. She will lie in state at the church from 1-2 pm before the service on Sunday. Music provided by pianist Rev. J.W. Patterson. Interment will follow in the Copper Ridge Memory Gardens with Rev. Mark Huff officiating. Pallbearers include Jason Tanner, Willie White, Jr., Donnie Dilbeck, Josh Griggs, Arnold Watkins, and Jody Huff.
The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home on Saturday, October 3, 2015, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Flowers will be accepted or you may make a donation in Dollie's memory to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
