Doc Aspy, age 82 of Blairsville, GA, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at his home. Mr Aspy was born Tuesday, September 30, 1924 in Hollywood, FL to the late Doc Ernest Aspy, Sr. and the late Della Johns Aspy. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville and a WW II Navy Veteran.
Survivors include: his wife, Ruth Aspy of Blairsville, GA and sons, Dale Aspy of Marietta, GA and Dennis Aspy of Woodstock, GA, Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 24, 2007 at 11:00 AM from the First Baptist Church Of Blairsville with the Dr. Fred Lodge and Rev. Danny Parris officiating. Music will be provided by Homer Payne and Linda Ballard. Interment will be in the Georgia National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Homer Payne, Lyman Johnson, Carl Johnson, Carl Priem, Curtis Richardson and David Kemp. Honorary pallbearers include: Leon Davenport and Rev. Bethel Buchanan.
The family will receive friends at the church from 10-11 AM, Friday, August 24.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to either; Regency Hospice of Northeast Georgia or First Baptist Church Frances Ballard Scholorship Fund or to the First Baptist Church Benevolence Fund..
The Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
