Mrs. Desma Annette Fulcher, age 93 of Frisco, TX, formerly of Morganton passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Victory Garden Nursing Center. Mrs. Fulcher was born Saturday, May 23, 1914 in Walton County, GA. She loved making quilts to keep her family and friends warm and also taught people how to quilt. She loved going to church and listening to gospel music. She was sharp minded and quick witted, always having stories to tell. She was well known throughout the family as being the best biscuit and dumpling maker. She was a community caregiver, taking care of countless friends and family members in their time of need. She loved to travel and fly on airplanes. She was true to her Baptist belief and had a deep love for the Lord. Never telling anyone "NO" and always being the first to help, she was a very busy bee. A very warm and caring person she never met a stranger. She retired from working as a spinner in a cotton mill in Alabama. She was very proud that she had read the complete Bible five times with only a third grade education. She had tapes that helped her learn the words and their meanings. It was very important for her to understand it. She was preceded in death by husband, Harold R. Fulcher, son William Ira Fulcher.
Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Burrel & Julianne Fulcher of Frisco, TX, daughter-in-law Linda M. Fulcher, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, December 9, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. from the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Keith Jones officiating. Interment followed in the Hemptown Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were: Robert Fulcher, Davids Holcombe, Michael Strength, Kenneth Strength, Lee Fulcher and Troy Seagraves.
