Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Deborah Lynn Murrell, age 56, of Blairsville, who passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at her home.
Deborah was born on October 21, 1959, in Atlanta, Georgia, a daughter of Ruth London Murrell and the late Hoyt Everett Murrell. She was a registered nurse, and worked at Chestatee Regional Hospital in Dahlonega. Deborah had lived in Blairsville for most of her life and was a member of Choestoe Baptist Church. Her father, Hoyt, preceded her in death.
Surviving family members left to treasure her memory are her mother, Ruth, of Blairsville; sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Ernie Harkins of Blairsville; brother and sister-in-law, Audie and Joy Murrell, of Dahlonega; and sister, DeWanda Murrell Loftis, of Blairsville; nieces and nephews: Jennifer and Scotty Jarrard, Jay and Amber McCarter, Karla Loftis Kidd, Kasey Loftis, and Jimmy and Tonya McCarter; several great nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., to be held in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Rev. Scotty Jarrard and Rev. Dick Stillwell officiating. The following gentlemen have been requested to serve as pallbearers: Jay McCarter, Audie Murrell, Ricky Abercrombie, Ernie Harkins, Homer London and Mickey Cummings. Burial will be in Choestoe Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will meet with friends on Monday evening, from 6 until 9 p.m.
