David Waldroup

David Waldroup, age 76 of Hiawassee, passed away early Friday, February 13, 2015. Mr. Waldroup was born October 7, 1938 in Hayesville, NC to the late Virgil and Donnie Hollifield Waldroup. He was a faithful member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Judith Hunter Waldroup, son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Lee and Stacy Waldroup of Hiawassee, daughter and son-in-law, Belinda and Roger Smith of Canton, NC, son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Joan Waldroup of Biloxi, MS, son, Marvin Ray Waldroup of Jasper, GA, son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery Scott and LaQuita Waldroup of Whittier, NC, son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Lindsey Waldroup of Hiawassee, step-son, Ronnie Dean Maney of Young Harris, step-daughter and her husband, Phyllis and Danny Maney of Hayesville, NC, and step-daughter and her husband, Lori and Wallace Giddens, also of Hiawassee. 23 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 3:00 pm at the Chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee with the Rev. David Berrong officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be sons and grandsons. Graveside services will follow in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Paul Richards officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the North Georgia Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee, Saturday, February 14, 2015, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Fred Hogsed, 2496 Clovis Dr., Hiawassee, GA 30546.
