Bishop David Franklin Scearce

August 7, 1933 — September 25, 2022

Bishop David Franklin Scearce, 89, of Mableton, Georgia, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Pruitt Health in Marietta, GA. David was born August 7, 1933, in Danville, VA to Leslie and Charity Phoebe Emzetta Scearce. 

David was preceded in death by spouses, E. Christine Hipps Scearce, Gaye Messer Scearce; father, Leslie Scearce; mother, Emzetta Scearce; brothers Donald Scearce, Lester Lee "Buck" Scearce and Ronald Scearce; sisters, Katie Lavinder and Margie Flynn.

He is survived by his sons David C. Scearce, Michael Scearce and daughter Kimberly Pospisil.
Surviving grandchildren Christopher Russel, Steven M. Scearce, Katie Conti, Derek Scearce, Danielle Scearce, and Cathy Ford. William Pospisil recently passed September 11 and is a grandchild who is missed greatly.

Surviving Great-grandchildren: Elin Scearce, Adam Michael Ford, Emma Jean Ford, Bernard Conti and Franklin Conti.

David loved God. He witnessed to anyone he could. His last witness was on the day of his passing to his nurse where he asked her if she was going to Heaven. He pastored for more than 37 years, then he was caretaker of Christine for ten years until her passing. He found love again with a believer several years later and watched and caretook for his second spouse Gaye Messer. David was at her side every day for 5 years while she was at a nursing home.

The family will receive friends at Connection Pointe Church of God, October 15, 2022, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
Podcast music and sermons given by Bishop Scearce from the 1960's, 70's and 80's will be played along with family photo memories during visitation. If you are interested to listen to other of his podcasts they are found listed at https://www.facebook.com/bishopscearce

Service time is Saturday, October 15, 2:00 PM, with Pastor Tony Evans officiating and Bishop Keith Gunter sharing words of faith.
