David Jordan

David Morris Jordan, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on January 17, 2025, at the age of 88. David was born on May 28, 1936, in Atlanta, Georgia, and spent over 30 years as a resident of the serene Blue Ridge community.

David's life was a testament to hard work and dedication, most notably as a truck driver. His tenacity and unwavering commitment to his work exemplified his strong character and deep sense of responsibility to his family. 

A man of faith, David attended the First Baptist Church of Ellijay. His love for classic cars led him to become a founding member of the "Creepers Car Club" in Smyrna, Georgia, as well as a current member of the Georgia Mountain Classics Car Club in Blue Ridge, where he fostered friendships and shared his passion for automotive excellence. In addition to his love for classic cars, he even drove his 1933 Ford truck to Indiana for a car show. 

David was preceded in death by his parents: Morris and Lucile Jordan and his wife Barbara Sutton Jordan. 

David leaves behind a loving legacy, survived by his son, Scott Jordan (Sherry); daughter, Lisa Sherman; and son, Mark Jordan. He will also be missed by his sister, Christine Jordan Meadows, as well as his grandchildren, Kevin (Jesse) Jordan, Kyle (Destiny) Jordan, Tara Sherman, Katie (Justin) Hamilton, Karlee Jordan, and Ryan Jordan. David was also a great-grandfather to Annistyn Jordan, Wilkes Jordan, Carter Hamilton, Savannah Hamilton, and Karley Taylor. 

A celebration of life will be held at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home, Blue Ridge Chapel, 3911 Appalachian Hwy, Blue Ridge on February the 8th from 11-2. Friends and family are invited to honor his memory. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in David's honor to Georgia Mountain Classics Car Club and mailed c/o Troyia Collis, 1717 Hwy 2, Blue Ridge, GA 30513. Note "Christmas Cruise for kids".
