Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mr. Darryl Colditz, age 55, of Blairsville, who passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, August 21, 2013.
Darryl was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on August 9, 1958, and had lived in Blairsville since 1970. He was an avid racing fan, and loved animals. Darryl's favorite pastime was simply spending time with his family. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Union County. Darryl's grandparents, Otto and Olga Baese and Bernard and Mamie Colditz preceded him in death.
Darryl will be fondly remembered by all who knew him, but especially missed by his family: loving wife, Teresa Colditz, of Blairsville; his parents, Paul and June Colditz, of Blairsville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Tutie Donaldson, of Blairsville; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Sheila Colditz, of Danielsville, Georgia; brother-in-law and his wife, Keith and Pat Donaldson, of Blairsville; nephew and his wife, Aaron and Eliza Colditz, of Athens, Georgia; nephew, Will Donaldson, of Blairsville; niece and her husband, Caroline and Zach Dillard of Augusta, Georgia; niece, Edie Donaldson, of Blairsville; and niece, Lillie Donaldson, of Blairsville; great nephew, Crosby Colditz, of Athens, Georgia; many other relatives and friends also share in his legacy.
Funeral services for Darryl will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013, at 3:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Rev. Mark Burgess officiating. Burial will be in Union Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, August 23, 2013, from 6 until 8 p.m.
