The Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory announces Funeral Services for Daniel "Danny" Ray Everett, age 64 of Blairsville who passed away on March 18, 2019.
Danny was born on November 30, 1954 in Murphy, North Carolina to the late Daniel Butler Everett and the late Bobbie (Lance) Everett. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with the best of them. This attribute served him well throughout his life and made him many friends. Danny had a streak of stubbornness, but was always dependable to follow through on his word- for which he was very respected. His sense of humor is simply unmatched.
He was the owner of Owltown General Store for many years and also cattle farmed. Danny later became a truck driver for Gooch Trucking Company. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was skilled at Poker Games and Blackjack. Danny liked to grow a garden and was the Grill Master when it came to steaks. He liked racing and with his sunglasses on had been mistaken as Dale Earnhardt a time or two.
Danny will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but especially by his family: wife of 25 years, Donna Everett; son, Daniel J. Everett; daughter, Jane Lamb and her husband, Timothy Russell Harkins; grandchildren, Keegan Everett, Colton Russell Harkins, Russell Daniel Harkins, and A.J. Cary; uncle, Cecil (Sue) Everett; aunts, Barbara Fortenberry Everett and Lugene Cheek Lance; sister-in-law, Mandy Angove; and nephew, Ronin Angove. Also, sharing in his legacy are numerous extended family members and his favorite dog, Lucy.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Union Memory Gardens. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Bobby Lance, Marshall Lance, Steve Byers, and Danny Young. Honorary Pallbearers will include Alvin Phillips, Brian Lance, Brad Hutson, and Champ Lance, Jr. The family has requested that ALL in attendance be comfortable and wear casual attire. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 until 9 p.m.
