Mr. Curtis Eugene "Gene" Moye, age 89, of Young Harris, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 9, 2019.
He was born in Griffin, GA on September 25, 1929 to the late Kirven & Maude Grant Moye. Gene was a very hard working man who loved his family deeply. When he lost his father at age 8, he went to work delivering news papers to help his mother raise three boys and one girl. He married his wife of seventy one years when they were just seventeen. Together they raised two children in whom he instilled a strong work ethic and taught them how to treat people right. Gene also served in the United States Air Force for twenty years and was so proud of his country. He enjoyed gardening and kept his yard in an immaculate and beautiful state.
Gene will be warmly remembered by all who knew him, but especially missed by his wife of 71 years, Christine Matthews Moye; son, Tony (Pam) Moye; daughter, Sylvia Breslin; grandchildren, Laurie Wilson and Michael Breslin; great-grandchildren, Hannah Holliman, Holly Hammond, Hailie Massey, Wyatt Breslin and Baine Breslin; great-great-grandchildren, Sophia Whitehurst, Channing Whitehurst, Joshua Hammond and Jude Hammond.
