Corene Alice Hunter, age 83, of Hiawassee, GA passed away December 25, 2009 at Clay County Care Center in Hayesville, North Carolina.
Corene was born on July 26, 1926 in Towns, GA, to the late Son and Lassie (Partin) Arrowood. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Corene was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd L. Hunter, daughters, Hilda Joan Hunter and Cheryl Eller.
Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Jackie & Judy Hunter of Hiawassee, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Melba & Danny Blythe of Hiawassee, GA; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 28, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Townley officiataing. Music will be provided by Pine Grove Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Phil Hunter, Jamie Hunter, Kyle Hunter, Oscar Owenby, Arvil Owenby, Rex Burrell. Honorary pallbearer will be Artis Owenby. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Cemetery.
The family will recive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home Sunday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
