Corena Carringer

Corena Lucille Carringer, lovingly known as "Peachy", age 86, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 in Murphy, North Carolina. Mrs. Carringer was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Frances Simms; spouse, Ralph William Carringer; son, Jimmy Carringer; granddaughter, Julia Bennett Postell; great-grandson, Ryalee Welch; son in laws John Horton and Jeff Bennett.

She was a life long resident of Cherokee County, North Carolina. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren deeply. She also had a caring love for animals. Her Christian faith was strong and sustained her in life. Mrs. Carringer strongly supported military veteran charities and Saint Jude's Children's Hospital. She kept her mind sharp with her many puzzles.

Corena is survived by her children, Doris (Jeff) Campbell, Sandra Horton and Michelle Bennett; sister, Ginny Landon; grandchildren, Jennifer Wood, Crystal (Jonathan) Lovingood, Keisha (Sean) Borden, Cory Carringer and Samantha Bennett; great-grandchildren Paisley Borden, Bryar Lovingood, Lincoln Lovingood, Ledger Lovingood, Adelaide Wood, Hunter Wood, Brayland Jumper, Arana Jumper, Tiara Welch, and Robbie Lee Postell also survive.

A memorial service celebrating the life and faith of Mrs Carringer will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 3:00pm from the Wilscott Baptist Church, 376 Willscot Church Road, Murphy, North Carolina, with Bobby Lovingood officiating. Interment will be in the Tomotla Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations in Corena's memory be made to Saint Judes Hospital.
