Cora Lee Deyton Carpenter

Mrs. Cora Lee Carpenter, age 85 of Blairsville, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at her home. Mrs. Carpenter was born October 26, 1931 in Blairsville to the late John and Rurie Self Deyton. She was a lifelong resident of the Blairsville area. Mrs. Carpenter was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Carpenter; son, Bobby Carpenter; sisters, Mary Jane Weaver, Alma Panter, Sudie Bell Bingham, Elsie Payne, and Louise Everett; brothers, Henry Deyton and David Deyton; and granddaughter, McKenzie Carpenter.

Survivors include: sons, Jerry Carpenter, Don (Frances) Carpenter, Jack Carpenter, and Robert (Nancy) Carpenter, all of Blairsville; daughters, Gayle Dyer, Frankie Hall, and Mary Carpenter, all of Blairsville, Wanda (Mark) Mamich of Munster, IN, and Jo Jones, and Bennie Plott of Blairsville; daughter-in-law, Donna Carpenter of Blairsville and son-in-law, Troy Dyer of Blairsville. 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren also survive..

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev. Joe Thomas, Rev. Randolph Jones and Rev. Wayne Hughes officiating. Music will be provided by Debronda Carpenter. Interment will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons and Jake Gooch.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville Friday, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
