Clyde Royce “Fish” Kisselburg Passes Away at the age of 86
Mr. Clyde Royce “Fish” Kisselburg, age 86 of McCaysville, GA passed away December 29, 2012. Clyde was born February 18, 1926 in McCaysville, GA to the late Pearley Lee Kisselburg and Myrtle Kaylor Kisselburg. He lived in McCaysville all his life except for a 15 year period of time when he resided in Globe, Arizona. Like his father and many of his brothers, he was a master lead burner traveling across the United States for his trade. True to his nickname, he was an avid sportsman who loved to stream fish, fly fish, hunt and camp all over the beautiful mountains of the Copper Basin area. He enjoyed many great fishing and camping adventures with his Dad, brothers and numerous nieces and nephews. Fish served as a Gunnery Sergeant in the Army and was also a former member and Judge Advocate of the American Legion Post 241 in McCaysville. He met Judy Heron on a job in Globe, AZ and was married for 14 years. They remained good friends even after parting ways. He was a dedicated family man giving all of his love and support to his daughter Julie, son Jim and grandchildren. He will be missed everyday as a loving father, papa, brother, uncle and friend.
He was preceded in death by his sister Helen Taylor and three brothers Winfred Kisselburg, Edwin Kisselburg and Pearley Kisselburg Jr.
Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Julie Ann and Randee Johnson, son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Rhonda Kisselburg, granddaughters-Jacqueline Kisselburg and Lexee Johnson, grandson-Garrett Royce Johnson, ex-wife Judy Kisselburg, sisters-Dorothy “Dot” Sullivan and Gurnell “Teeny” Panter and brother-Don Kisselburg.
Funeral Services: Saturday, January 5th, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Matthew McDaniel officiating. Family time will begin at 9AM and they will receive friends before the service at 10AM. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery with an open house reception immediately following at Pat's Country Kitchen.
