Clinton R. Lampton, age 81 of Morganton, passed away August 6, 2012. Clinton was born October 15, 1930 in Cedaredge, CO to the late Frank H. and Bertha E. McFarland Lampton. His years in Colorado were spent as a fruit farmer and raising prize-winning cantaloupe, as well as running a small engine repair business.
He moved his family to Kasilof, Alask in 1975. He was a mechanic for R. Lee Seafoods and later ran his own construction company.
He moved to Morganton, GA. in 1985 and continued his construction company there along with three of his sons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Clyde, Harold, Rich, Charles, Don, and Leonard; one sister, Lillian in Colorado; and two sons,Jimmy and Keith Lampton of Morganton, Georgia.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Myrna Lampton, two siblings, four children, and eleven grandchildren: brother, Glen Lampton of Colorado; sister Esther Bever of Colorado; son Doug and wife Brenda and sons Doug and Brian Lampton of Palmer, Alaska; son Chris and daughters Mandy and Melissa Lampton of Wasilla, Alaska; son Mike and wife Debbie and daughters Leah and Cassie Lampton of Kasilof Alaska, daughter Elaine and husband Skip and children Jesse, Kasey, and Ryan McKeral of Hemptown, Georgia; daughter in law Teresa and sons Michael and Tyler Lampton of Lakewood, Georgia; and many great grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held in the Henry Cochran Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 6:00 pm.
