Clinton David, "Slick" Collins

Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces the death and funeral services for Clinton David, better known as "Slick", Collins, age 75, of Young Harris, Georgia, who passed away Monday, January 3, 2011 at his home.

Mr. Collins was born in Union County, Georgia, on August 26, 1935, a son of the late Edwin P. Collins and the late Lois M. Plott Collins. He was a lifelong resident of this area, and was a member of Old Union Baptist Church and Stephens Masonic Lodge, #414, and The Yarab Temple in Atlanta.

Surviving family members include son and daughter-in-law, Wayne P. and Kim Collins of Young Harris, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne Dale and Jennie Collins, of Topsail Beach, North Carolina; and son, Stacy David Collins, of Young Harris. brother, Herbert A. "Cecil" Collins, of Marietta, Georgia, and brother Clarence L. Collins, of Young Harris; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., at Old Union Baptist Church. The body will lie instate at the church starting at 1:30 p.m., with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held on Tuesday evening, from 6 until 9 p.m.
