Mr. Clifford Hawkins, age 74 of Mineral Bluff, passed away March 30, 2014 at the Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. Clifford was born September 17, 1939 in Fannin County, GA to the late Charles Atley Hawkins and the late Amanda Elizabeth Bell Hawkins. A member of the New Liberty Baptist Church, he was preceded in death by grandson, Jaedon Bryce Hawkins, sister and brother-in-law, Imogean and J.D. Helton, sister and brother-in-law, Ethelene and Ken Helton, and baby sister, Rosalee Hawkins.
Survivors include loving wife of 49 years, Betty Henson Hawkins, son, David (Tammy) Hawkins, daughter, Pamela Hawkins, granddaughter, Holly Hawkins, brothers, Charles Hawkins, Bob (Donna) Hawkins, Ben (Ruth) Hawkins, Leeroy (Ruth) Hawkins, and sister, Kathy (Dee) McClure. Also numerous, loved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Hooper and Rev. Tulley Griggs officiating. Music provided by the Caylor Family Singers. Interment will follow in the New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Matthew McClure, Denny Hawkins, Mike Hawkins, Tim Hawkins, Charlie Helton and Etheridge Ware. Honorary pallbearers include Rev. Roy Clore, Jeff Helton, Ed Hawkins, Scott Rogers, Kenny Bell, Tinker Bailey, Jim Ware, E.L. Ware, James Davenport, E.J. Hawkins, Tommy Bell and Roy Truelove.
The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Tuesday evening from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
