Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces Funeral Services for Mr. Claude T. Kitchens, Jr., age 69 of Hayesville, North Carolina, who passed away in Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville on Wednesday, January 17, 2018.
Jr. was a lifelong resident of Clay County, North Carolina and the son of Claude T. Kitchens and Beatrice (Boyd) Kitchens. He retired from Pepsi Cola as Regional Supervisor. He was a former Deacon of Lower Bell Creek Baptist Church. Jr. was a kind and caring man who adored his family and never met a stranger. He was always willing to lend a helping hand.
He will be warmly remembered by all who knew him, but especially missed by his family:his devoted wife of 50 years, Karen; daughter & son-in-law, Kimberly & Dwayne Bradley of Gastonia, NC; 3 grandsons, Brendon & Elissa Gray of Reno, NV, Devon Brown of Raliegh, NC, and Ethan Brown of Gastonia, NC; 2 graddaughters, Elyssa Brown and Kayla Brown of Gastonia, NC; sister, Kathy Kitchens Toole and her husband, Gene of Hayesville; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Kitchens of Powder Springs, GA; aunt, Madge Moss; and several nieces and nephews. Jr. was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Kitchens; and sister, Barbara Bradley.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee with Rev. Denny Moss and Rev. Darryl Rose officiating. Special music will be presented by Freda Nicholson, Speed Hunter, and others. Interment will follow at Lower Bell Creek Cemetery. Selected to serve as pallbearers are: Derrick Kitchens, Chris Bradley, Tim Coffey, Henry Jenkins, Mike Gribble, and Joel Gribble.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until the service begins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lower Bell Creek Cemetery.
