The Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory of Blairsville announce Funeral Services for Christopher Lee Churchill who passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020.
Chris was born in Blairsville, Georgia on December 19, 1987 and grew up in Blue Ridge. Later, he made Blairsville his home and began to build his business. Chris was a skilled carpenter with a keen eye for details and a drive for perfection. The focus of Chris' business was on siding homes, but he would also tackle remodel projects and had built a couple of homes from the ground up. Although, he was extremely talented and could play just about any instrument, Chris loved to sing and play the guitar. He loved classic southern rock music and old gospel hymns. Chris enjoyed fishing and riding dirt bikes. He attended the Vertical Church in Blairsville.
Chris' pride and joy in life was being a father. He treasured those moments with his family. Chris was kind, generous, and thought the best of everyone he met. He was adventurous and outgoing.
He will be warmly remembered by all who knew him, but especially missed by his family: his loving companion, Amelia Allen, along with her son, Canaan; son, Christopher (Matheny) Churchill; daughter, Emilee Churchill; mother & step-father, Debra & Lee Bennett; former step-mother, Robyn Winters; brother, Rob Churchill; sister, Nichole Cox; brother, Weymon Bennett and his wife, Candice; sisters, Benai Bennett and Cassie Bennett; and nephew,Sylas Churchill. Chris was preceded in death by his father, Robert Churchill; brothers, Blake and Derek Long; and grandmother, Jewell Frasure.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 30, 2020 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Medori officiating. Special music will be presented by Cody King, Debronda Carpenter, and Hayes Brothers Band. Interment will follow at Union Memory Gardens with Pastor Jerry Helton leading the committal. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Robert Carnes, Luke Goodman, Evan Monroe, Daniel Plott, Jacob Plott, Franklin Jones, and Isaiah Hampton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5 until 9 pm.
