Chief Warrant Officer Charles "Chuck" Grissett

Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces funeral services for Chief Warrant Officer Charles "Chuck" Grissett, age 87, of Blairsville, who passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 27, 2017.

Chuck was born in Alabama, and a son of the late J.W. and the late Elma Grissett. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army, and a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville. He and his wife moved to Blairsville from Temple Terrace, Florida in 1994. Chuck enjoyed playing guitar every Saturday at the Flea Market in Murphy. Besides his parents, Chuck had been preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Lynn Grissett in 1980, and a brother, Jimmy Grissett.

Chuck will be fondly remembered by all who knew him, and will be greatly missed, especially by his loving family members: wife, Mary, of Blairsville; son and daughter-in-law, Don W. and Belinda Grissett, of Merritt Island, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, April E. and Daniel Winship, of Clearwater, Florida; sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and Tommy Frink, of Van Rico, Florida; three grandchildren: Landon G. (Janet) Grissett, Cody R. (Tessa) Grissett, and Ryan Winship; and great great granddaughter, Emma Elaine Grissett. Many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, December 30, 2017, at 3:00 p.m., to be held in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Dr. Fred Lodge officiating. The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as honorary pallbearers: Billy Hutchcraft, Landon Grissett, Cody Grissett, Dave Carter, Al Harper, Floyd Petty, and Tom Scissom. Burial will be in Hillsboro Memorial Gardens in Brandon, Florida at a later date.

Visitation at the funeral home will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017, starting at 1:00 p.m., and will last until the service begins at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial contributions be directed to Interlink Children's Ministry, c/o First Baptist Church of Blairsville, P.O. Box 2058, Blairsville, GA 30514.
