Cheri Meaders

Cheri Janette Meaders, 58 yrs old, of McCaysville, Ga, passed away on Tuesday, March 5th, 2024, in her home after a long battle with cancer.  Cheri was born on November 21, 1965, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Janice Rae Tilford and Donn E. Smith.

Cheri was so unique to one and all. She loved every living creature she came across, especially if it had a cute face.  If you knew Cheri, then you were blessed and you were loved. She had a servant's heart, and thrived on being able to help somebody in need, or help an animal in need. Cheri relied heavily in her walk with the Lord and her trust in Jesus. Her profession for many years has been custodial services but also she was a caregiver to many both as a job and as a volunteer. 

Cheri was preceded in death by mother, Janice Rae Burke; an unborn baby boy, Christian Justice Ray Meaders; and nephew Michael Verderber.

Cheri is survived by her former husband and best friend, Stanley Ray Meaders of Blue Ridge, Ga; Son, Gregory Ray ‘Scott’ Meaders; 

Grandchildren: Christian Abel Ray Meaders and Raelyn Serenity Meaders; and Son, Zachary Abel Ray Meaders.

Cheri is also survived by her loving Father, Donn 

E. Smith, a resident of Blairsville, Ga.  Sister, Nannette E. O’Neill and her children: Constance O’Neill and Keturah O’Neill Mann of Blairsville; Sister, Vicki Rae Giberson and her children: Johnathan Shannon Marrs and George Shelly Marrs of West Palm Beach, Florida;

Sister and her husband, Jennifer and Doug Barbash, and son Troy Heatley of Black Mntn. NC, and her son and his family, Shane Heatley and wife Berea Heatley of Blairsville, Ga.

Her friends and family will come together and have a public Celebration of Life for Cheri on Saturday, March 30th, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Cochran Funeral home, 41 Hunt Martin Street, Blairsville, Ga. 

In lieu of flowers, one can make a donation or volunteer at your local Humane Society or animal shelter.
