The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces services for Ms. Chasity Brooke Free, age 31, of Young Harris who passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013.
From the day she was born, Chasity demonstrated a determination to get what she wanted. It was tiresome if you were the person it was aimed at, but it served her well in overcoming so many obstacles. She was a fighter and was relentless if it was something she pursued.
Chasity had a remarkable sense of humor and always had people laughing. She brought joy to other people, even people she did not know. Her smile was contagious. In her last hours of Consciousness after her surgery she was wisecracking.
She enjoyed attention and knew she was beautiful.
She loved and enjoyed being with her family and the family traditions at holidays. She loved food and had special requests for her favorites.
She loved her job and the responsibility that came with it.
Chasity will be warmly remembered by all who knew her, but especially missed by her family: daughter, Makenzie Carroll; son, Cayden Casey; mother & step- father, Debbie & Donald Keys; step- sisters, Jessica Young, Tiffany Cook and Brittany Allen and special friend, Jonathan Papazian. She was preceded in death by her father, Jeffery M. Free; paternal grandmother, Juanita Free and step grandmother, Grace Daniels.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Old Union Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Rogers and Rev. Larry Forrister officiating. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Anthony Taylor, Bradley Taylor, Chris Rogers and Ken Nicholson. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 pm.
