Charles "Darwin" Turner

December 24, 1938 — April 13, 2014

Mr. Charles Darwin Turner of Morganton, passed away April 13, 2014 at the North East Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA. Mr. Turner was born December 24, 1938 in Morganton, GA to the late Charles Hasson Turner and the late Eula Odom Turner. A member of the New Hope Baptist Church, he was a 32nd degree Mason. After he retired from General Motors, he enjoyed farming and growing crops.

Survivors include loving wife, Ann Ayers Turner, son, Chuck Turner, son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Regina Turner, daughter and son-in-law, Pam Lacewell and Anthony Mobley, brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Janie Turner, brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Anne Turner, sister, Polly Fath, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Buddy Pittman officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jason Turner, Wesley Turner, Brad Turner, David Turner, Sammy Lacewell, and T.J. Mobley. Honorary pallbearers are Ed Davis, Frank Mathis and Mark Richards.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
