Mr. Charles Henry Arp, Sr., age 77, of Morganton, GA, passed away Friday, April 24, 2009 at Fannin Regional Hospital. Mr. Arp, Sr. was born Saturday, May 30, 1931 in Polk County, TN. to the late Carl A. Arp and the late Ruby Brockman Arp.
Charles Henry Arp was a former Fannin County Teacher, Principle, and Superintendent of various local schools. He was a member of the Copperhill United Methodist Church. He loved and cared for his family, church, and students of Fannin County.
Survivors include: wife, Louise Chastain Arp of Morganton, GA, son, Charles H. Arp, Jr. of Woodstock, GA; son, Andy Chastain Arp of Blue Ridge, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Lisa & Paul Cundey of Augusta, GA; sister, Christine Hyde of Ducktown, TN; brother & sister-in-law, Carl A. & Sharon Arp, Jr. of Ducktown, TN; sister & brother-in-law, Carol Ann & Donnie Dockery of Blue Ridge, GA; sister & brother-in-law, Claretta & John Cheek of Calhoun, GA; sister & brother-in-law, Charlotte & Jerry Sisson of Blue Ridge, GA; five grandchildren, Lisa Marie Cundey, Paul Edward Cundey, IV, Mary Katharine Cundey, Charles H. Arp, III, and Katherine Elizabeth Arp.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 26, 2009 at 3:00 pm from the Copperhill United Methodist Church with the Reverend Barry Sarver officiating. Music will be provided by Jerrie Sue Massengale, the church choir and the Promise Quartet. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Bob Welch, John Cheek, Jerry Sisson, Donnie Dockery, Frank Henson, and Wayne Brooks. Honorary pallbearers include: Robert Arp, Dennis Wilson, Bob Weese, Leland Rymer, Larry Collis, Ralph Bender, Robert Graham, Kerry Hicks, Doyce Loudermilk, Randy Loudermilk, Tom Mitchell, Bill Simonds, Troy Wingard, Jack Dunn, Garry Day, Ron Pace, and Travis Goss.
